James Jardella founded Skin Sapiens because of his own eczema issues and concerns about what skin care products to use on his new-born son.

Having worked for some of the biggest beauty companies, James couldn’t bring himself to put the “unknown” on his new son’s sensitive skin. James wanted to take back control, and make something natural that’s as good for the planet, as it is for the skin.

He began by choosing the best proven, plant-powered active ingredients for sensitive skin — and then he left out the rest. A home-made baby balm was tested on his own skin, then on Alex, then on his friends. It worked so well; he decided the rest of the world should try it too.

Initially a simple kitchen-table start-up, Skin Sapies quickly evolved into an award winning business acclaimed by the likes of Vogue and distributed in stores like Selfridges.

Skin Sapiens only has one plan: to make great, functional clean skincare products with as few ingredients as possible, and without a negative effect on the environment. They believe that everybody should know what they put on their skin and into the environment.
